Upcoming Wilson County Fair
The Wilson County Fair is approaching quickly, and of course we will have a booth at the fair this year to spread the word about our campaign! We will be talking to people, answering questions, and passing out campaign literature.  This is a great opportunity to get a lot of GOOD information out there to the public.  If you would like to volunteer or help out, please give me a call, send us an email, or use one of our online forms here on the website ( Volunteer, Contact, or even Tell A Friend ).

The Fair runs Friday, August 15 through Saturday August 23rd, and we would like to keep the booth fully manned at all times.

Watertown Jazz Festival
Watertown Jazz Festival 2008 We all had a great time at the Watertown Jazz Festival this weekend, and we got to meet a lot of people. It did get a little wet towards the end of the festival, but all in all it was another great year of live music on the square in Watertown.

As a sponsor of the Watertown Jazz Festival we set up an information tent and handed out campaign materials. Once again I am grateful for everyone's support and all the positive comments and suggestions. We've got less than four months now until the elections - so we need to stay focused on getting the word out.

Several Upcoming Events:
June 14, this Saturday from 3 - 6 Steve and Patty Guynn owners of Sherlock's Books on Maddox Simpson is hosting a "Meet the Mayoral Candidates".  Sherlock's is an unusual book store featuring Movie Events, a restaurant, and hobby shop as well a large selection of books.

I am taking signatures for the Candidate Nominating Petition for the City of Lebanon Mayoral Election.  Although only 25 is required we would like a large number of signatures representing our campaign.  Call Philip or Darlene to sign.

Our door to door campaign has begun.  The signs are starting to show up around town.  If you would like to help with a street in your neighborhood or any other, please let us know.  Call your friends and neighbors for sign locations.  Our Grass Roots campaign is continuing to gain strength through your conversations with others.  Please keep up the good work.

There is lots of work to be done this summer.  We need your help.

Campaign Benefit Over
Our first benefit for the campaign is now over.  With all your help we pulled it off.  Thank you so much for everyone who bought or sold tickets, helped with setting up or cleaning after, working at the event, etc.
You can read the entire speech by clicking here.
We thought 200 people would be a great turnout for a Tuesday night with ball games going on.  I believe a conservative estimate for turnout was more like 375.  One local politician said our benefit was top notch and it was unusual to bring this many people together on a Tuesday night.
People are noticing all the signs going up all over town.  Some are stopping me on the street and asking for one.  Next week I plan on beginning going door-to-door in some neighborhoods.  I plan on visiting ballparks.
THE RACE IS ON!
The next public event is May 3 at Bark in the Park at Wilson Bank and Trust.  The Spring Creek clean up was rescheduled to May 10.  If you need a t-shirt, let me know.  Hope to see you at as many events as you can attend.

Thank you sincerely for all your help.

Week in review:
This has been another good week for the campaign. I've meet dozens of new voters. The word is getting out. I'm trying to go to as many business as possible just to say hello and to introduce myself. Things look good. We have Craighead for Mayor T-Shirts. We plan to give these out at upcoming event. Yard signs should be here soon; banners have been ordered; Adds at the Roxy are to start this Saturday. We will be as many events as possible. Please keep selling those tickets for the Chili Super. April 22 will be very important for this campaign but we do want to have fun. Have a great weekend!!!

Chili dinner update!
On April 22, the chili fund raiser, ticket sales seem to be going well. Plans are for Erica Jo to provide entertainment. Chili Super to be catered by TWO FAT MEN Catering. We need to get everyone to come and we need to have your help this night. Our goal is to have over 500 people in attendance. Of this core group this is a total of 10 people per core member. A big attendance will continue to strengthen this campaign. Our goal is two fold, not only to raise the much needed funds but also to meet with the people. We want to have a large turnout to show our strength in numbers.
If you have a supporter who would like to purchase a block of tickets and they can't attend, see if we can give their tickets away to people who might not otherwise get to attend. We want a large crowd at the event.

Week in review:
It appears that everyone is working. When I stop in places in town, I see some of you have already left cards. When I talk to people in town, you have already been there. Many thanks to all of you for your recent efforts. We have the tickets in hand for the Chili Supper on April 22. We will be getting them into your hands next week. A reminder of the Sinking Creek Clean Up on April 5. Be at Farmers Market at 9 AM if you can help. We have T-shirts to wear to show our support.
