Greetings! My name is Philip Edward Craighead. I am
asking for your support to be the next mayor of Lebanon.
I’ve been a resident of Lebanon since 1969. My
parents, Reverend Billy and Marie Craighead, moved here from Pulaski to
serve at First United Methodist Church. From graduating in
1972 from Lebanon High School, I went on to MTSU where I graduated with
a degree in Business Administration
In 1981 I met the love of my life, my wife, Darlene. We have
two children, Carissa Stone-Wheeler, age 32, (James Wheeler) and
Zachary Craighead, age 23, (Melissa). As with my marriage I
find that working hard together is more productive and provides for
greater success. While in school I worked full time at the
family business running the KOA Campground and Lebanon Skating
Rink. For over 20 years, I coached girl’s softball
and boy’s baseball. These were great years for
me. At Friendship Christian School, our company designed and
built the softball, baseball batting facility along with dozens of
other interested and involved parents.
The desire to be in
service to others and to the community is an important qualification for
any candidate seeking to lead a growing city like Lebanon.
I have served on various
boards at First United Methodist Church of Lebanon where I have been a
member for 40 years. I was an active member of the Kiwanis
Club for a number of years. I’ve served on the
board of Mid Cumberland Community Action Agency for over 3 years. My
son and I spent countless volunteer hours working on the playground for
the City Park and have helped frame houses for Habitat for Humanity.
Currently I am serving on the board of the Lebanon City Neighborhood
Revitalization Task Force. My wife, Darlene, is the past
president of Wilson County CASA where she has been serving on the board
for 7 years. In 1985, I began building homes in the Middle
Tennessee area. Since then together with my wife, we have
built over 200 homes. In 1991 we started The Phoenix Group of
Middle Tennessee, a highway construction company that works on roadway
projects throughout the state.
My son has joined us in the family business which is allowing me the
luxury of the time needed to serve as Mayor.
Please allow me to serve you and our town.
BE SURE TO VOTE!
